    I really like this. I don’t exactly see “odyssey” in it, but it has a really fetching quality that I would call “organic” (in the way it “coils on itself”). What exactly is the “encaustic” process?

    Thanks Van, glad you like it. I agree, the name does not work, but my inspiration failed me. I was thinking of journeys in the Med way back… and well. Odyssey it was.. as much turmoil as those trying to cross it today. I will send you an email explaining the encaustic process, but briefly it is beeswax and oil paint applied with heat.. molten wax to set the colour. Great fun.
